Introduction to Werewolf

Learn the basics of the game and why it's so addictive.

What is Werewolf?

Werewolf (also known as Mafia) is a survival and deception game where the villagers must hunt down the wolves before everyone is killed. The game is divided into alternating Days and Nights, played live in real time. During the Day, players talk, analyze, and vote to eliminate a suspect; during the Night, roles with abilities act in secret to help their team (see more in “Rules”). The key is communication, deduction, and deception.

Every match includes three fixed roles: Seer and Doctor (good) and Alpha Wolf (evil). In addition, there is a wide variety of random roles such as Bard, Necromancer, Vampire, or Siren, each with different powers or mechanics that can change the course of the game.

Why you should play it?

Beyond its simple mechanics, Werewolf offers a rich experience of analysis, group strategy, and unpredictability. Every match is unique: players' behavior, their ability to lie or detect lies, and their knowledge of the game all have a huge impact on how the round unfolds and how it ends. It's ideal for those who enjoy thinking, debating, and reading between the lines.
