Game Objective
The good team must eliminate all the wolves that threaten the village. The evil team, on the other hand, aims to kill enough villagers so they can no longer be defeated (for example, when 3 villagers have died and 3 wolves are still alive). There are also some neutral roles, such as the Jester or the Lycan, which have special win conditions.
Game phases
The game is played through two alternating phases: Day and Night. Each phase has a time limit and is divided into stages with different dynamics and objectives.
Day Phase (≈110 seconds)
During the Day, all players can communicate freely in the global chat. This phase is divided into several stages: Start, Discussion, Voting, Defense, and Judgment.
- Start (20 seconds): When the match begins and the table is full, roles are assigned and the cards in play are shown along with the emojis for each team. This helps new players identify the teams easily.
- Discussion (≈40 seconds): The longest stage, where players can type freely. This is the moment to share information if the situation allows it (e.g., if there are no roles like Wolf Shaman), make accusations, defend yourself, lie, or create confusion. Roles should not be revealed except in special cases, such as when there are Lovers and a Shapeshifter.
- Voting (20 seconds): Only living players vote. If no one reaches the minimum required votes (1 vote), the game randomly selects a player. Roles should not be revealed during this stage even if you are being voted, especially on the first day.
- Defense (20 seconds): After the voting ends, the chosen player must finally reveal their role as quickly as possible and defend themselves if there is an intention to kill them. This is the moment to explain why they shouldn't kill you, dismantle accusations, or deceive the others.
- Judgment (7 seconds): After the defense, all living players except the accused vote whether to kill or spare them. Voting thoughtfully is crucial to avoid helping the evil team. This is why selecting an option matters: if the accused is on your team, you must choose “DO NOT KILL,” and regardless of how others vote, avoid mindlessly following the crowd and use your own judgment.
Night Phase (≈30 seconds)
During the Night, villagers with abilities take action while the wolves decide whom to kill. One very important aspect of this phase is, once again, not revealing roles unnecessarily, since doing so puts you at risk. Even more important, it is strongly recommended to always pre-type your role action: this means typing what you're going to do with your role and to whom, then sending the message in the final second of the night to prove your role's authenticity (e.g., “I'm Bard, charming PlayerX”). In sections like “Roles” and “Become an Expert” you'll find more detailed explanations about this phase.
